2023 Virtual Choir:
"In the Shelter of Thy Wings"

If you love singing beautiful music, this exciting project is for you! Register now to participate in a virtual choir recording of “In the Shelter of Thy Wings,” a gorgeous hymn for SATB choir by John Balamos.

Our video track conductor is renowned composer, orchestrator, and music professor Neal Desby of the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

Registration is $15 for adults and $10 for ages 17 and under, and includes three optional online rehearsals on Sept.16, 23, & 30. You will receive instructional videos on how to make and submit your recording, a video guide track to sing along with, and a PDF of the sheet music.

The final professionally-produced video will be posted here and on social media the first weekend of November.

Individual recordings are due by October 21, so let’s get singing!

2021 Christmas Virtual Choir:
"The God Before All Ages"

Enjoy our 2021 Christmas Virtual Choir of the hymn, “The God Before All Ages,” beautifully performed by singers from across the country, helping to spread the joy of the Nativity of Christ.

This hymn, arranged and conducted by Fr. Michael Pallad, is based on the traditional Christmas Kontakion by St. Romanos the Melodist of the 6th century.

September 2019: Christ Is Born! Glorify Him!

Participants of the third "One Day" choral event recorded a new SATB arrangement of "Christ is Born! Glorify Him!" inside the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, on September 21, 2019. Meeting new friends, rehearsing and enjoying fellowship for a day, singing about the birth of Christ while surrounded by beautiful iconography, this unique pan-Orthodox choral event brought parishioners together from Tucson up to Prescott, including visitors from California and Florida! March 2019: O Pure Virgin

The second Pan-Orthodox "One Day, One Hymn, One Church" event was held Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Phoenix, Arizona, drawing parishioners from throughout the state for a day of music and fellowship. Under the direction of Fr. Michael Pallad, the "One Hymn" for the day featured "O Pure Virgin" by Saint Nectarios of Aegina, arranged for SATB and Youth Choir. First "One Day" Event: September 2018: Psalm 23

The first-of-its-kind Arizona pan-Orthodox choral event, One Day, One Hymn, One Church, was held in the Speros Community Center at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, September 22, 2018. From Prescott down to Tucson, 83 parishioners and friends registered for the choral fellowship event.

Beginning with vocal warm-ups, a new choral arrangement of Psalm 23 by Father Michael Pallad was then handed out. Following full group and section rehearsals, a lunch break, and some fun music exercises, a professional video recording of the final run-through was made (see it below) and posted to our Facebook page.

Orthodox Christian Choral Fellowship is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to foster fellowship among the members of Orthodox Christian parishes through participation in choral ensemble singing. This will be done by sponsoring various events designed to experience the joy and benefits of group singing.
